Ron Paul Votes against protecting gun manufactures from frivolous lawsuits
Ron Paul states that he is America’s champion of liberty. He is the common sense voice for fighting against those who would take our rights away. However, the facts say differently. Gun manufactures have come under fire from frivolous lawsuits from liberals. By the way here is the link to the actual bill and who voted for and against it: http://clerk.house.gov/evs/2005/roll534.xml What we are seeing is a common fallacy were a person claims that if no guns were sold there would be no violent crimes. We as intelligent thinking adults know otherwise. Did Kane use a gun to kill Abel? NO he did not. The ACLU, American Civil Liberties Union, is anything but for citizens civil rights. In fact they pay for lawyers to go around the country and do quite the opposite by taking up frivolous lawsuits. Here is a case in point. A man buys a rifle and goes hunting with it. After he returns home and puts his new rifle up. He goes to work the next day and comes home to find out he has been robbed. They took his new rifle. A month later the same rifle is used in a liquor store robbery. The man that robbed the liquor store is shot by the police in a gun fight. Here is where it gets twisted. The relatives are approached by the ACLU to file a law suit against Winchester for selling the firearm in the first place. Even though they didn’t sell it to the man who robbed the liquor store! Sadly, the relatives of the burglar won. The Bill in the U.S. House that Ron Paul voted against protects Winchester from any future lawsuits such as this. Thankfully the bill passed anyway without the help of Ron Paul. However, it does make you ask where is this man coming from? What liberties does he truly protect the ones that would be praised by the likes of the ACLU? Read The Article
