The state of Texas has seen its fair share of hard times or people up in Washington going in the complete wrong direction. My point of view is the Federal government often over reacts to situation due to pure pressure. The pressure I’m talking about it the fear of reelection year. A quick look in our nation’s history books would remind us of President Herbert Hoover's approach to the onset of the deep depression. His hands off approach did much to worsen the affects. Equally, in many historians’s eyes so did the actions of President Herbert Hoover. The basic problem they both faced was one under corrected while the other over corrected.

The responsibility of the Government to its people is clearly put before us in arguably one of the best uses of the printed word in recent human history. For those who follow faith I would not compare our Constitution against the Holly Bible. However, I would suggest it was God’s work through man that inspired such a work of art. Never before had a Government so clearly stated exactly what it owed the people. Most impressively the Constitution also states the Government serves the people instead of the opposite. This was a first for many nations that were still working Monarchies.

The Pledge

I Will uphold the Constitution; I will defend it against all enemies, both foreign and domestic.

I Will faithfully represent the interest of the citizens of my district, and I will never cast a vote in opposition to the "will of the people".

I Will stand firm and support those conservative values that made this nation great, and I will fight hard to oppose those who would undermine them.

I Will work towards the goal of a balanced budget and therefore vote for a freeze in government spending until that goal is realized.

I Will oppose all tax increases until our economy has rebounded because I believe that the government should not increase the financial burden on its citizenry during this difficult economic time.

I Will support an energy plan that calls for immediately increasing usage of all domestic resources including nuclear energy, natural gas and coal as necessary. I believe more than four decades of U.S. dependence on foreign oil is a travesty.

I Will act in accordance with my belief in the sovereignty and security of our country, and will therefore support measures to close our borders except for designated immigration points so we will know who is entering, and why. I will vehemently oppose any measure giving another country, the United Nations, or any other entity power over U.S. citizens.

I Will not apologize for policies or actions of our great country which have served to free more and feed more people around the world than any other nation on the planet. I believe the United States of America is the greatest country on earth.

Energy Independence

We hear a lot about energy independence and know little about what that truly means. This is ok since it is such a complex subject. The simple version is to not need any outside resources for a prolonged period of time. Thus whatever we do to fill this need is done for America by Americans in America.

The problem we are facing is everything is working off of technology we were using at the turn of the last century. This was when we were still getting around as man always has with the use of animals such as horses. The technological jump from using horses to get from one town to the next with cars, trains, and planes was massive. The next jump will have to be just as big of a leap in technology.
